The Château d’Eyran team invites you to its very first event dedicated to bats, on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
Come meet us for a friendly evening with activities for the whole family, music, and a food truck.
We aim to raise awareness among visitors about our commitments in the vineyard, focusing on biodiversity, especially highlighting the bat. This evening coincides with « International Bat Night, »celebrated in over 30 countries since 1997.
But why spotlight this mammal?
Numerous myths tarnish the bat’s reputation, portraying it as an “evil” animal. However, bats are extremely beneficial for our ecosystem; they help regulate the population of nocturnal insects that can bring diseases to vineyards.
That’s why, for several years now, we have set up refuges to encourage their presence in our vineyard.
During this event, you will discover all the secrets of bats and the biodiversity that is an integral part of our vineyard.
From 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Pierre Trintignac from LPO Aquitaine (League for the Protection of Birds) will be there to lead an activity where you can observe and understand the behavior and diversity of this small mammal. He will also be available to answer all your questions. This activity is open to everyone, both young and old, but please note that space is limited! Don’t forget to bring a flashlight.

During the evening, you can enjoy a pleasant moment with family or friends. Our team offers:

And how about a workshop with the kids to create your own bat?
You will have everything you need to create and personalize your cork bat! Kids (and adults) will leave with a lovely souvenir…
Now for the tasty break…
Finally, the food truck Le Beyrouthin will be on-site serving Lebanese products such as salads and falafel or feta sandwiches. You can enjoy our picnic tables and large garden area overlooking the vineyard!
